Ding went the bell as I walked into the building. I got to school at 8:20, so I didn’t get to walk in the Armory like everybody else. I waited for my friends to come into the classroom. When everyone was situated in their seats, we began to do lunch count. The thought of homemade pizza made me hungry! After lunch count, Mrs. McAllister said, “Flag”, and then everyone stood up and said the Pledge of Allegiance. After saying The Pledge everyone got their books in hand and walked to Reading.
In reading we watched a PowerPoint on the Terracotta Warriors. The emperor Qin, wanted terracotta soldiers to protect him in the afterlife. After that, we watched a PowerPoint to introduce us to our new vocab words. After we learned the words, we had to do vocab. pictures as an assignment. Wow, reading went by so fast! Next was language arts.
For language arts Mrs. Dux read our stories that we had written. She didn’t get to my story, but maybe tomorrow if she has time to read them. Next it was on to social studies.
In social studies, we had to do a Chinese calendar worksheet. Then, we got a study guide to study. The test is tomorrow, so everyone should study. I know I am! Next was science.
We don’t usually have science at this time, but we had a program later, so we had to have science now. In science we went over the worksheet we did yesterday. Then, we had to get one big and one little blank piece of paper. We had to make compounds. For calcium oxide you would put a C and then an O by each other on the big sheet of paper. Next, it was time for lunch.
When I got back into the classroom, I could smell the fresh pizza. My stomach ached with hunger, so I was really ready for lunch! When I got done with eating my pizza, our table was dismissed. When I got into the classroom for recess, I sat down with Mr. Roby so he could help me with social studies. Then, it was time for math.
In math, we went to the marker board and wrote down what we got for certain problems. Then, we got a worksheet on greatest common factors. After that, we went to a program.
At the program, this band called No Better Cause sang and taught us about music. No Better Cause had no instruments, they just used their voices. Then, we walked back to school and it was time for study hall.
In study hall, I worked on homework, like math, social studies, and reading. I didn’t have band, it was just the trumpets. When the bell rang, I knew that it was time to go, so I got my homework in my backpack then headed out the door. Today was a good day, but I’m ready to get home and wait for the next day to come.
