December 15, 2010 by Kianna

I started my day by walking in the armory for about 10-15 minutes. After that Mrs. McAllister’s 6th grade class took lunch count and said the pledge. Then we headed off to reading class.

In reading we did acrostic poems which are when you put the letters of your name and describe things about your self. We had 5 minutes to work on it. Next it was time to head to Reasoning and Writing.

When I got there, we had to take out lesson 42 and correct it. Afterwards we started a new lesson, and we did part A,B,C, and D. Then we had to leave for social studies, but I didn’t have to leave since I was already in the classroom.

Mrs. Dux, the teacher, gave us fake passports to go to China. (She Google Earthed it). She showed us all the places where she has been. We ran out of time, and then we left for spelling.

I slowly walked down the hall to go to spelling. We just went over lesson 38 and that was it. As we all sat there with our stomachs growling for lunch, the bell finally rang to go to lunch.

When we finally got to the lunch room, the smell of a Fiestada, which is Spanish for a small pizza or something like that, filled the air. After everybody completed their lunch, we went outside for lunch recess!

At recess I played dodge ball for 30 minutes which was the whole recess time, and then the bell rang as we all marched inside with our small cold and bitter little fingers. Now it was time for math.

During math we graded our work sheet buy using a marker board, and that was it. Once again we went into over time with math, and we skipped art. Then it was time for P.E.

In P.E. we played snake tag for warm up, and then we played a vigorous game of basketball! Next it was time for science.

In science we learned what a neutron and what a proton are. Then we had a work sheet over what we learned. Finally it was time for study hall.

In study hall I worked on my Roving Reporter. So that is our 6th grade day at Jefferson Intermediate school.
