November 9, 2010 by Mary

I woke up with the sound of my dad’s voice saying “Mary, get out of bed”! When I looked in the mirror I scared myself. After I ate my breakfast, I loaded into the van and headed off to school. I went to walk on the tennis courts, and when I stepped out, the warm smooth air came across me. At that moment, I knew nothing could ruin my day. After we walked for about fifteen minutes, we all cascaded down the stairs to head into school.

In reading we discussed vocabulary words and checked our papers. Once again Mrs.Dux talks about random things in her past and has trouble pronouncing Spanish words. Then we read Rumplestiltskin’s Daughter, which is a fairy tale which we also talked about. Then two people left and two people came.

What fruit am I? Well we guessed what fruit or vegetable we were. That sure made me hungry. We also handed in lesson thirty-seven in are books. We had fun in reasoning and writing, but then we had to go see what dendrite building activity Mrs. Hudson could give us today.

In science we discovered what we would weigh on different planets. We discovered that we don’t want to go Jupiter. After that she decided to gives more work, ugh. We also reviewed how to get density (mass over volume). Then we headed off to learn in social studies.

Egypt is one of the most interesting things to learn about in social studies. We reviewed again. We also talked about the tombs and everything that’s in the tombs and stuff like that. Then Mrs. Dux gave us three blank pieces of paper. We all stared at them. We finally discovered we have to fold them and cut them like a pyramid. Everyone kept glancing at the clock BRRRRRRRRRRIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGG went the bell to head off to lunch.

We had a sumptuous pork patty for lunch. We all scarfed down our lunch and ran to recess. During recess we had dodge ball, kickball, basketball, and shark. Shark is when one person is when one person is it and tries to tag somebody, but you (the shark) can only be on metal or rocks. When you tag someone you go up they go down. Then we went inside to go to music and P.E.

In music we jazzed up Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with accents on our keyboards. Then we lined up to go to P.E. Miss. Seibolt was back! Everyone was so surprised she was back! In P.E we played Leapfrog Tag and then played with stations.

And we were off to get the computers. The wonderful computers of all! On the computers we took a Moodle quiz and had to find everyone’s eye color. There was a lot of staring. Then we put the computers away and headed off to spelling.

In spelling we did lesson 27, but before that we had to get a talking to about neatness. It was not that interesting, but I knew it was important so I listened anyways. Then we headed to study hall.

There were many people who went to band that day, so it was a quiet study hall. Mrs. Dux had many people around her desk. She was so overwhelmed. Then finally the bell that many people love, rang.

We walked to the doors. Once every class was there, teachers opened the doors and tried not to get stomped on. Once the kids were out, we got to smell the fresh fall air and feel that soothing breeze. Everyone was so calm. Then we started heading to our cozy homes.
