November 2, 2010 by Evelyn

On November 2, 2010 I did my normal routine of an everyday school day.
When I got to school, I walked on the track at school for about 5 to 10 minutes just before the bell rang to go inside. When we got inside, we hung up our coats and our backpacks to take lunch count and do the Pledge of Allegiance. After our normal routine, we got ready for reading class.

In Mrs. Dux’s reading class we went over the vocabulary words of the week. We had only 5 vocabulary words which were calamites, mitigate, devastating, evacuate, and administer. Also in reading class we had an assignment which was with those 5 words. We were to do a scene that described those five words. Next was reasoning and writing class with Mrs. Dux once again.

In reasoning and writing class we were supposed to do Part E which was to change the last two words of a sentence to make it more specific. For example: Big Bill pulled a wagon full of them. The right sentence would be Big Bill pulled a wagon full of big round pumpkins. About a half an hour later, reasoning and writing was over in a jiffy, and next was spelling class.

In spelling class, which is with Mrs. McAllister, we got our spelling tests back. Later we went over Lesson 23. After checking that, we started doing Lesson 24. First we wrote 20 words down and discussed other things. Shortly after that, Mrs. McAllister told us that we had to do the rest of the worksheet which was fairly easy. Next thing we knew it, spelling was over, and the next class was science class.

During science class we discussed matter, volume, weight, and mass. Weight means how much you weigh and volume means how much space something takes up. We will discuss more about mass tomorrow. After we discussed a little bit more about the topic, it was time for Lunch.

At lunch I had crispy mini corndogs with barbecue sauce and ketchup. Another thing I ate was salad with croutons and ranch dressing. I also had a piece of bread with butter. Next thing I knew, it was recess, oh yeah.

During recess, I played on the monkey bars and talked with some friends. After 30 minutes of having fun, the bell rang to go inside for our regular classes. When we got inside, Mrs. Hudson read Peppermints in the Parlor for about 10 minutes. Our next classes were P.E and music class.

In P.E we first did a warm up which was Toilet Tag. The main idea of this game was if someone tagged you, you had to sit down and put your hand up so someone could touch your hand and you would be able to play again. Later we played Every Man for himself. The object of this game is to get a ball and try to hit someone so they are it. The only way they can get out is if someone got the person out that tagged you . Suddenly we heard a whistle blow, and that meant that it was time for music class.

In music class we were supposed to do an activity which was to get a partner and try to do a song at the same time and beat. After that, Mr. Roby came and checked our work and said it was okay. Next class was math class.

In math class we had a worksheet on mean and outlier which was pretty easy. I got done with the worksheet rather quickly. I had still 30 minutes to do some homework, and I choose to do spelling. Those 30 minutes were gone in a flash, and the next class was social studies.

Social studies is taught by Mrs. Dux. In social studies we did a worksheet about Chapter 3.If you finished the worksheet before class was over, we were supposed to read Lesson1 in our textbook.

When social studies was over it was time for study hall. Those who go to band did, and the rest stayed and did work. I finished most of my work and only had very little homework. Finally I was relieved that school was finally over. It was a very crazy day, but I survived.
