November 22, 2010 by Megg

As I woke up to the sound of my alarm, I knew that it was going to be a very dreadful Monday morning. When I got to school, everyone was so tired. It looked like some of them were going to fall asleep right then on the sidewalk. People walked a few laps on the track, and then we headed inside for the nice warm, out of the oven, feeling of heat in our classrooms.

Once everyone unpacked their bags, we took lunch count. After that we said the Pledge of Allegiance. Then off to reading we went.

In reading, Mrs. Dux talked to us about a few things and then gave us our assignments which were a G.O. and workbook pages 73. After that, we went over some questions in our book from last week. I could hardly believe that it was already time for Reasoning and Writing.

In Reasoning and Writing we finished a test which wasn't too hard. Then when we got done, we could either work on other homework, read an A.R book, or study vocabulary on the Mac computers. (I chose to work on homework.) BRRRIIIINGGG rang the bell, and it was time for social studies.

When social studies began, we talked about some mummies we were going to be making on Wednesday. Mrs. Dux even showed us one that she had. It felt weird and stunk horribly. After that we drew on some papyrus that she had. We were so into drawing that we didn't even notice that it was time for spelling, so we left her room in a hurry.

In spelling, we wrote down a few sentences in our workbook. Then Mrs. McAllister let us do whatever we had to do for homework because some of the kids didn't get their homework done so they had to do it.

With stomachs growling like bears, we headed off to lunch. For lunch we had chicken nuggets, bread, peaches, and applesauce. That was delicious! During recess, some people played dodge ball, and others played basketball. But as for me, I built a sand castle with some sand on the ground. Frozen as we were, we finally headed inside for the warmth of the heaters.

After we got inside, Mrs. Mac read to us from Peppermints in the Parlor. Emily was trying to figure out what all had happened, like why Tillie's breath had the faint scent of a peppermint. She suddenly stopped and said “ Take out your math please.”

In math class, we put some answers into clickers from a worksheet we had to do. We also talked about pages 108 and 109 in our textbook. After that, we had our assignment, which was page 110 in our math books. Finally, math class was over so we went to music.

In music, we played some songs on the keyboards and had some free time to play around on them. It was then time for library.

In library, Mrs. Johnson read us a story that was about Thanksgiving. That class went by in a flash. It was science time.

When we got to science, we read and talked about pages 374 and 375. They were about boiling things. For our assignment we had to do question #1. It was finally time for study hall.

In study hall, I worked on some homework that I had. Then at 2:55, Natalie and I went to flute lessons with Mr. Luebbe. The bell rang so it was time to go home.

After a hard-working Monday finally came to an end, we were all ready to go home for the day. As we headed outside, kids were buzzing like bees everywhere. Today was a really good day.
